Investment yields fall as rail stock prices rise
A historical table tracks 17 railroad and three industrial stocks showing the decline in investment yields from 1902 to the present. It notes August last year yields fell from 6.76% to 4.49% and now stand near 4.12%, with changes in Amalgamated and Norfolk & Western dividends not altering the overall trend. It suggests many railroads may raise dividends this year, supporting current prices despite future optimism.
