Removal of Stables to Brighton Urged

A Boston city hearing considered two petitions to end horse sale stables near North Union Station. Representative Woods urged banning sales sites within Boston limits with stables to close by 1906, while Edwin S. Small backed a broader measure. Horsesmen said they would relocate if a suitable site and lease terms were arranged, including a 20 year free rental offer in Brighton via Boston & Albany. The committee also heard on separate Lord's Day observance and death-penalty abolition measures with church leaders and notable figures present.
