Cincinnatus Heine Miller born in Liberty Ohio later known as Joaquim Miller after adopting the Mexican nickname Murrieta. He gained fame as a poet dramatist philosopher writer and journalist noted for quixotic ideas and writing much of his work in bed. Continued on Page 5 Third Column.

PORTLAND Maine February 17 A $75 000 donation from David D Stewart of St Albans to the Maine State Sanatorium Association was announced today by the trustees.
The government will appeal directly from District Judge Ward's ruling overturning Secretary Nagel's order to exclude Cipriano Castro. The appeal, to be filed within 10 days by U S Attorney Wise, aims to expedite a final ruling on Castro's right to remain in the United States as a visitor.
Lisbon reports the government will forward all questions about religious congregations seized under the separation of church and state law to the Hague tribunal for settlement. The move aims to obtain an authoritative ruling on the property questions arising from the years of church-state separation.
The Massachusetts Employees Insurance Association voted to issue special dividends of 30 to 41.7 percent to its general subscribers as of December 31 1912. Eighteen stock companies in Massachusetts announced a 25 percent rate reduction effective February 15 1913 but this does not apply to past seven and a half months. The association argues its rates were set to allow dividends and offers to insure at cost with large rate reductions. The piece questions whether merchants would be better insured with the association or the stock companies and notes an anticipated readjustment of rates to 30 percent below stock rates for about 75 percent of employers.
Chester Penn February 17 The marching pilgrims bound from New York to Washington for woman suffrage faced their first hostile reception since starting their hike at Leiperville a village north of Chester. Snowballs from a crowd of small boys nearly routed them as they halted this afternoon.

Washington February 17 Miss Agnes Paul in charge of the National American Woman's Suffrage Association says there will be no clash with anti suffrage forces led by Mrs Arthur M Dodge. Dodge arrived seeking headquarters to challenge suffrage and promote the view that most women do not want the ballot. Minnie Bronson will oversee the offices.
Taft orders all Americans to leave the Mexican capital and dispatches efforts to evacuate from Vera Cruz where three ships of war are reported in port. The alert emphasizes active military readiness for evacuation and safety of citizens amid growing tensions.
Washington reports the United States moves closer to intervention in Mexico after President Taft’s reply to Venustiano Carranza Madero’s appeal to withhold action. Taft’s reply is described as near an ultimatum demanding peaceful conditions. Continued on Page 9 First Column.

Sidney Ware, a murderer who served 22 years in the Hastern penitentiary, married Miss Ella M. Hershey of Harrisburg today in Philadelphia. Ware was convicted of killing Morris Miller and later received a 25 year sentence for Fred Kindler before being pardoned.
