The Silver Question and the World Monetenary System

The document argues against free silver coinage and a silver standard, detailing how European nations shifted to gold after 1873, the risks of gold reserves and debt payments under a silver regime, and urging an international conference to restore silver through global agreement rather than unilateral action. It cites Germany, France, the Latin Union, and Austria as key players shaping the shift away from silver, warns of credit and debtor consequences, and stresses that only international cooperation can feasibly revive silver as money.
