Charles L Copeland a well known Milton resident aged 67 hanged himself at his farm after a period of illness and mental distress. He left home yesterday morning and was found in the barn by a farm hand with death probable, despite efforts to revive him. He was survived by his wife and two children, including a daughter at Milton High School.

A Lively Blaze Subdued At East Boston Mill
A fire last evening damaged George McQuesten & Co planing mill at 170 Border Street East Boston. Loss estimated around 25000 with the mill a 150 by 100 foot one story building housing five planing machines four circular saws and a band saw. Watchman John Jackson spotted the blaze around 710 pm triggering box 634 and a second alarm by 730 pm. District Chief Egan and F C Douglas helped hold the fire to the mill and prevent spread to neighboring structures. flames were nearly out by 9 pm and the property is insured.
