Keenan Threatens City Hall Purge Over Water Posts
In the Aldermen session Keenan moved to shrink water commissioners from three to one and cut their salaries but was defeated as salaries cannot be reduced mid term. He warned he would drive one commissioner out if he lasts till Christmas. Other actions include clerk salaries, confirmations for Health and Public Institutions, and reports on Long Island inmate care and City Hall security. The session addressed Bridge safety, new Court House furniture costs, and Fremantle Hall market lease renewals.
