Motorman Jere Long of a Malden Broadway line halted his inbound car at Broadway and Corey street Everett to avert a collision with a fast touring car. The stop occurred within 20 feet saving three occupants whose identities were not learned. Conductor Charles Domey of Medford was thrown from the rear into glass doors, suffering cuts to his hand and arm.

Human chain rescues two on Dorchester Bay ice
Two men breaking through ice in Dorchester Bay were saved by a five fireman and a large man chain across 500 yards of ice. Firefighters formed a rope aided rescue, then with ladders and a third cast reached and pulled them to safety as cracks opened.
