Tooker Wins Third Match In Spring Championship

In New York on February 13, C. L. Perkins and J. S. Tooker contested the spring championship third match at the racquet and tennis club. Tooker captured the 2nd, 4th, and 5th games to win 12-15 15-6 10-15 15-10. Totals show Tooker with more aces and hands, and schedule notes list forthcoming matches against E. La Montague Jr., and J. Hoyt actions with Perkins and Hoyt.

Charlestown Cycle Club Opens New Rooms on South Eden Street

The Charlestown Cycle Club moved into its new South Eden Street rooms on Feb 1 after nearly two years in Read's block and held a housewarming with music, a collation and a dance. Founders C R Hutchinson and F N Hurley have led the club since its organization on uly 4 93. The club plans monthly entertainment and has hosted two road races and two dances in its existence. A proposed race between Judge and Vamoose after June 1 offers 1090 in winnings split with Sailors Snug Harbor Home, with Chauncey Depew as possible stake holder. Norseman has been renamed Alsacienne by Caius Bragg after Ogden Goelet sold the vessel with retainment of the original name in mind for potential future use.

Carbane Sentenced Eight Months for Assault Case

Dominick Carbane pleaded guilty to assault and battery with intent to murder after a Christmas Day incident on Prince Street. Harvard to Build New Diamond at Holmes Field

Harvard athletics departments move toward Soldiers Field with Holmes field to host varsity baseball and track this season. The twenty eighth annual Massachusetts Grand Army encampment began in Springfield with Department Commander Wilfred A. Wetherbee presiding. Martin's Companions Discharged After Sleigh Ride Incident

George Martin remained critically ill at City Hospital after a stabbing in South Boston. Six of twenty two workers involved in the sleigh ride were discharged by order of the general manager, with a hearing called at North Point stables to determine blame. Martin identified Norton as the assailant to his wife.
