Jonathan and His Continent review signals mixed verdict
The piece credits Max O’Rell’s Jonathan and His Continent with clever passages yet finds the book uneven after the opening chapters. It criticizes structure and method, praises some satire, and notes surprising judgments about American life and government in a New York Cassell & Co. publication.
