Fire hero Lieutenant rescues rheumatic man at Prince Street blaze

Lieutenant Lawlor of Ladder 1 saved David Silverman, an immobile rheumatic resident, during a four story Prince Street fire at 6912. The blaze began about 9 46 p m in the Cohen Co furniture section, confined to first floor and basement, with $600 estimated loss and several occupants slightly overcome.

Woman Overcome by Smoke in Lenox Street Fire

Fire department rushed to a four story brick building at 156 Lenox Street after a kerosene lamp was upset. A small blaze on the second floor of the Banks and Wells estate property forced Mrs. E. Fisher from her room and she was overcome by smoke but recovered quickly. Estimated loss not to exceed $25.

Two West End men held in East Water town holdup case

James White of 44 Laurel Street East Water town was robbed of 19 dollars on Norman Street near Green as he was approached by George Walsh 23 of 172 Cambridge Street and James Wallace 48 of 44 Green Street. After a chase by four officers, the pair were arrested at a Union Station alley. White identified them. money was not recovered. Crawford of East Jaffrey NH also reported an 11.55 pm assault on Poplar Street near Charles.
