Stronger stock market amid Treasury action rumors
The market showed strength as London rose on reports of imminent Treasury action. Traders covered shorts with Curtis in talks with European bankers on a government loan abroad, while General Electric weakened briefly before closing higher. Gold shipments and NY earnings dominated notes, with various railroad and mining stocks shifting, and an overall cautious but active trading day.
