Life ends for Rev Adoniram Judson Gordon
The Rev Adoniram Judson Gordon longtime pastor and writer died peacefully near midnight at his home in Brookline Street, aged 70. Born in New Hampton New Hampshire on April 19 1836 to John Calvin Gordon and Sallie Robinson Gordon he was named for missionary Adoniram Judson. Converted at 16 he joined the local Baptist Church and soon felt called to preach. His ministry at Clarendon Street Baptist Church spanned twenty five years and his recent book Ministry of Healing issued yesterday. Mrs Gordon and other family members were at his side when he died as physicians had stated morning seemed unlikely.
