Engineer Killed in Crash of Locomotives
A crash between a passenger shuttle and the Cannon Ball freight near Dorchester resulted in multiple injuries and an engine engulfed in the wreck. William A. Boyle, the passenger engineer, suffered a fractured leg while W. A. Braun and H. L. Freedman escaped with injuries. The accident was blamed on a signal mix up as the freight, with perishables, faced the passenger locomotive on a siding between tracks.
