In Nice on December 28 Viscount Jules de Bernouilly shot his divorced wife six times. She escaped to a shop calling for help and taking refuge there. The woman, Mme Bernouilly, aged about 2, had been divorced from her husband sixteen months earlier. Despite the divorce the viscount remained intensely jealous of his wife.

The Brownville Company’s mill at Brownville near Watertown, N Y, burned today from a hot box over the engine and was entirely destroyed. Valued at 150000 dollars, insurers covered only about part of the loss.

The disappearance of Etter Murphy, 69, from 106 East Brookline Street was solved when her body was identified at the City Hospital morgue yesterday morning. She had been taken to the hospital after disappearing from home and was found unconscious on Harrison Avenue opposite Bates School.

Poor Men Shot Gambler McDonald's Deadly Saloon Fray

New York police report Miles McDonald a gambler with a revolver record opened fire at the Onowa cafe at 125th Street and Park Avenue. One man died, one died later, and several wounded as McDonald and others exchanged shots in the crowded saloon. Authorities state Kennedy Price and others identify McDonald as the shooter. Price died later, while McDonald was arrested. Witnesses describe a chaotic melee with multiple revolvers firing.
