Teamsters and Masters At Odds In Wage Dispute
A five hour State Board of Arbitration session between the Teamsters Union and the Master Teamsters left the labor dispute unresolved with a possible tie up of freight in Boston before January 1. The Master Teamsters offered a wage schedule from ten to eighteen dollars per week by vehicle class, while the union insisted on a ten hour day and higher pay scales, and indicated rejection of the proposal. A special union meeting is planned for Sunday to decide further action.

Some say public dissatisfaction with Roosevelt could elevate Hanna if the administration falters, with letters of support and delegate pledges noted. The debate centers on patronage and whether a President should bow to party senators or appoint others when opinions diverge.
