He was found about 7:30 p.m. near his switcher, time recorded at 6:35. Born Great Barrington he was a renowned tackle and Harvard alumnus. He leaves a mother sister Lizzie and brothers Samuel and Gerrish.

Man Dies After Jumping From Train at Cambridge Station
Exil Robbin aged 39 of 66 Clifton Street North Cambridge was killed at North Cambridge station on the Fitchburg line yesterday morning around 11. He worked for Perry Bros brickmakers and leaves a wife and three children in destitute circumstances. Robbin had just left Boston on the train, leapt from a passing car as it left North Cambridge, struck the Porter station bridge, and was cut in two as three cars passed. Witnesses did not know him. the train did not stop and the body was later identified as Robbin’s.

Fatal Commuter Rail Crash at Communipaw New Jersey
A drill engine collided with a backed train of flat cars at Communipaw New Jersey shortly after 6 am killing brakeman Collis Haycock instantly and fatally injuring engineer William Murtagh and bystander John Higgins. The scene was two miles from the nearest hospital and aid arrived late as the Central Road of New Jersey block remained in effect for hours.

Robert Burrows Narrow Escape From Cold Streets
A four year old boy, Robert Burrows of 3112 Adrian Street Somerville, wandered away from a Christmas event on Warren Avenue. Patrolman Woodman found him on Washington Street almost frozen and brought him to the station where warmth revived him. The boy was later returned home to his mother.

The government steamer Newfield reports a wrecked unknown vessel ashore at Sable Island during the first week of December. It is about 500 tons with no identifiable cargo or boats. A barkentine was seen November 9 on the northwest bar, but heavy seas prevented lifeboat launch.

Fire destroys Coliseum during Chicago fair crowd crush
A fast fire at the Coliseum on Sixty third street and Stony Island avenue in Chicago engulfed the building in about twenty minutes. The blaze started in an X ray exhibit booth run by William Robertson and M J Morley. Dozens are missing and believed to have perished with at least 20 injured as occupants tried to flee through locked exits and crowded doors. The 2500000 pound steel structure collapsed within minutes after arch failures, ending the seven acre hall that housed the fair and its booths.
