Malden Skater Dies After Thin Ice Breaks Through
Miss Ethel Rouillard aged 17 drowned at the Malden reservoir when thin ice gave way during skating. Accompanied by Albert Ryan of Medford she fell 60 feet from the edge and both entered 15 foot deep water. Rescuers pulled Rouillard from the icy water after a struggle as onlookers aided, but she died at Malden Hospital.
