Miss Ball, a professional actress and first to apply for a license in the city, reported to Captain Danny at Lagrange Street station that she has received numerous threats stating she will lose her valuable instrument. She said she would carry a revolver for protection.
A 260 year old Gagliano violin linked to a Boston family was bought in Cleveland and fended off a hotel theft in Chicago. The owner plans to seek police permit exceptions with assurances from Captain Danny and Police Commissioner O Meara for a favorable outcome.
