Officials and members gathered at Copley Plaza for the annual Christmas party. About 500 attendees enjoyed frolics, films, songs, and table room antics while gifts were awarded. President George A. Rust presided with key officers and directors among the head table. Paper caps, balloons, and paper serpentine decorated the night as members donated gift sacks.

Good News for City War Vets
Harry McKenna of the Soldiers' Relief Commissioner announced an early distribution plan to pay allotments to veterans or their relatives before Christmas. Civil and Spanish War veterans can collect at City Hall today, World War veterans are scheduled Friday and Saturday. The department’s payroll last month exceeded $106,000, the highest ever for this work. Civil and Spanish War claims totaled 19,000 for 1,200 vets. World War veterans, about 3,000 on the payroll, cost 86,000.
