Marconi's Next Test Plans For Messages From London
Marconi says future tests will use messages not signals as he awaits London progress on permits to erect a station in St John’s Newfoundland. Greetings from Alexander Graham Bell offer Cape Breton estate for a temporary wireless station, with Bell’s manager McInnis to assist. Marconi, packing for Canada, attends a state luncheon with Governor Boyle, Premier Bond and officials, and notes the potential decline in telegraph costs if wireless can commercialize globally. He also predicts submarine cable costs could drop dramatically, from current rates to one cent per word eventually. Marconi is to dine with the City Club tonight.
