Roxbury Man Ends Life at Home in 88 Caliber Shot

Respondent Luni A. Deane aged 45 and living at 2 Hartford Street Roxbury shot himself at 6:30 last evening. He had been despondent for some time and went to his second floor room before a revolver report was heard. He was found dead with an 88 caliber bullet wound to the head. Medical Examiner Draper will view the body today.

Portland disaster search efforts reach exhausted status

Captain Proctor led a search around Cape Cod and reported to Chief Wade that the State has done all possible to recover bodies. Any later finds will be identified if washed ashore, but recognition may be difficult. The tug has covered 400 miles without success seeking wreckage or remains from the lost Portland.

Embezzlement Charge Against Cornell Arrested in Suncook

John D. Cornell also known as William C Chambers was arrested at a Suncook hotel on embezzlement charges filed by Smith & Co Boston. The alleged amount is eighty dollars. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to Concord jail for a hearing next month.

Boy Henry Rosenthal Dies of Brain Concussion

Henry Rosenthal aged 14 of 66 Telegraph Street South Boston died at his home at 7 15 last night after his head struck an icy sidewalk while at play on Thursday. He was found unconscious and lingered until last night. Medical Examiner Draper will view the body today.

Convicted in New Amsterdam Hotel robbery case

William A B Moore was convicted by a jury before Recorder Goff in New York on a November 4 robbery at the New Amsterdam Hotel. The verdict included a recommendation of mercy. Moore's co defendant Fayne Moore is scheduled for trial Monday. this was Moore's second trial after a hung jury.

Wilmington Delaware December 16 The jury received the case of United States Senator Richard R Kenney charged with conspiracy and aiding in misappropriation of Dover bank funds after a lengthy trial. Judge Bradford instructed the jurors over two hours and the verdict was not expected until tomorrow. The case mirrors a prior trial that ended in a hung jury. Beckwith Returns to Boston After Embezzlement Case

Beckwith, an alleged embezzler from Chicago, surrendered to Chicago police then confessed to Boston authorities he pilfered $5000 from L. W. Niles of Niles Bros. He was arrested at police headquarters at 5 30 and sent to the Tombs after detailing how he moved the funds in small sums. He said loneliness drove him to turn himself in.
