Feudists Burn Four Homes in Howell County Village
Fifteen masked men said to be enemies of the Collins family rode into Old Norton Missouri and burned four houses owned by Collins members. Several Collins were beaten and warned to leave under threat of death before the band rode away. The Collins clan numbers about 200 and has a 23 year feud history.

Bill to remove limit on postal savings deposits
Washington December 15 the House passed a bill to remove the limitation on deposits in postal savings banks. The measure allows unlimited deposits but fixes interest only on amounts up to 1000 dollars. Under current law the limit is 100 dollars per calendar month and aggregate accounts may not exceed 500 dollars exclusive of accumulated interest.

Cornerstone laid for Second Church in Boston 1914
A December ceremony marked the cornerstone lay for the Fifth Second Church of Boston at Beacon street and Audubon road. Dr. Francis H. Brown, Rev. Dr. Samuel A. Eliot, and church members spoke as Indiana Mine stone was placed with three time capsules from Hanover Street 1844 Copley Square 1874 and the current congregation records. The building features Harvard brick and Indian lime stone with six front pillars and a fireproof records room in the basement.

Harvard freshmen have in two days contributed or pledged 1595 toward a 2,000,000 gymnasium in Cambridge replacing the Hemenway structure. The 1917 class will canvass to reach 10,000. Hamilton Fish Jr. of New York, captain of the 1910 football team, chairs the alumni pledge committee.

Four Years for Sweetheart's Death in Crowley
Dora Murff, 18, was sentenced to four years for her role in the killing of J. M. Delhaye. Her stepfather J. M. Duval received 99 years. Delhaye was shot on a street. Murff admitted involvement but testimony indicated Duval fired the fatal shot.
