Luke claimed to have arranged limited film exposure and a 10 week Keith engagement though evidence shows no such agreement. On arrival in Boston Luke guarded Knowles closely at King Bartlett and later at Copley Plaza.

Treasurer of Keith's Dead

Walter J. Donovan longtime treasurer of B. F. Keith theatrical enterprises died at his Dorchester home after a three month illness. Born in South Boston 54 years ago and a Lawrence School graduate he previously worked as banker and broker on State Street with Robert M. Clark. He joined Keith’s as treasurer about 18 years ago and led finances nationwide. He was trustee of Boston insane hospitals and is survived by his wife and sister Mrs Katherine Hickey. Funeral from St Mark's Church Ashmont Tuesday morning at o'clock.

Madison Avenue Tragedy Ends in Wife Slaying

William Barker a 28 year old bookkeeper shot and killed his wife Mrs Adeline Barker in view of hundreds of Sunday promenaders on upper Madison avenue New York. He used a five chamber revolver and every bullet lodged in her body before calmly awaiting arrest by a policeman. He said the couple had separated recently and he killed her because she refused to live with him again.

Late last evening reports said Mayor Fitzgerald enjoyed a comfortable day. The doctor allowed him to sit up for several hours in the afternoon. He returned to bed at night and rested well. He may sit up again for the day in a couple of days.

American Militant Arrested in Bow District Demonstration

Miss Zeke Emerson of Jackson Michigan led a suffragette procession in Bow London to protest denied use of Bow Baths. Police halted the demonstration with about a hundred officers and arrested Emerson and three supporters amid a furious scrimmage.

Rescue Riot at Suffrage Rally Ends With Injuries

Miss Emerson was seized as men and women rushed to aid her in a wild scene. Women and children were knocked down in the melee and trampled in the dim light. No serious injuries reported after the field cleared. police seized and shredded numerous suffragette banners.

Hunter Shot During Deer Drive Near Kingman

Albert L. Page of East Eddington was killed instantly while hunting near Kingman when a companion mistook him for a deer and fired. The shooter, unnamed, altered course to drive deer past Page’s position. The incident occurred on a Saturday close to Bangor, Maine.

Touring Car Hits Carriage on Medford Street

A buggy was demolished in a rear end collision with a touring car on High street near Walcott street Medford last evening. Patrick J. Murphy and Daniel J. Murphy of Belmont were injured. Patrick suffered a broken nose and bruises while Daniel was shaken lightly. Frank H. Brown of Waltham owned and drove the auto. the horse escaped injury and was later caught. The buggy occupants were aided by physicians and the wrecked car towed to a garage.

Massive Arlington gas plant blast unsettles town at night

A sudden explosion at Arlington Gas Light Company on 606 Massachusetts avenue ripped through the building tossing a 200 gallon boiler tank 300 feet along the street. DebrisS damaged wires but no one was fatally hurt though lodger James Duncan was blown from bed.

Family Upstairs Explosive Fire Harms Eight-Year-Old Observer

The wrecked street building hosts a gas company office on the ground floor and the La Breque family upstairs with their eight year old son Leon. A blast at about 9 10 while guests James Bevans and wife visited sent all in the parlor from their chairs. Duncan was among the hurt.
