Million Dollar Policy On Vanderbilt Written Directly

New York December 13 reports say the Mutual Life Insurance Company issued a million dollar policy on George W. Vanderbilt directly from its home office with no agents or commissions involved. Much of the risk was reinsured with smaller companies. In Lynn three hold ups occurred about 6 pm. two victims were women, Sarah Miller and Mrs. George Maxwell, who fought off the attackers before aid arrived. A third victim, Hiram Bodwell, was assaulted by a crippled man with a crutch but escaped. Police pursue limited clues from the robberies.

Muitinous Olive Pecker Trial Opens in Norfolk Court

In Norfolk Virginia on December 13 the trial of the Olive Pecker mutinous crew will begin in the United States Circuit Court. Judge Goff and Judge Hughes will preside. Rescued at Sea by British Steamship Kildonia

The British steamer Kildonia arrived at Newport News with Captain H N Nymann and seven crew members of the Norwegian bark Njemmett. After the Njemmett sprang a leak off Champer Ten Yucatan, distress signals went unanswered as waves battered the vessel. Captain Roberts of the Kildonia ordered a lifeboat lowered and ten men went to the aid, rescuing the trapped sailors.
