After lengthy debate and affidavits, Swift was exonerated of ownership claims and the board admitted Newtowne Club to membership. proceedings ended with improved goodwill.

Plumbers' Union Ball Attracts 600 In Boston

William E. Wilson, 50, was found dead in a doorway on Tremont Street by Division 4 officers at 11:55 pm. Body taken to Jones's Undertaking on Lagrange Street. Dr Williams viewed and ruled natural causes. Wilson resided at 62 Chandler Street.

Noted driver dying in New York hospital

John A. Goldsmith, famed trotting horse handler and driver, was reported dying at Presbyterian Hospital in New York. Born in Washingtonville, he began racing young, rose to prominence with Monroe Salisbury and later worked for William Corbett of the San Mateo Stock Farm before returning home. He married Bertha Moore on the day of his departure to the stock farm life last April.
