Lizzie G. Fenollosa obtained divorce from Prof Ernest F. Fenollosa in Minneapolis on alleged incompatibility. The Salem born couple married in 1878, lived in Tokio, with two children. one daughter given to the mother and the son died in 1877. Fenollosa, a noted scholar, later became a professor in Japan. The pair are well known in Boston and Salem society.
