Severe Storms Hit Ocean Liner Arrivals at Mystica Port

Incoming European liners reported meeting a severe easterly gale at sea but all arrived uninjured. Hamburg American steamer Assyria discharged merchandise at Mystica after a 16 day voyage from Hamburg. Devonian from Liverpool docked East Boston after two gales, with notable passengers including Sir Theodore Fry, director of Leyland Line, and family. Largest oats cargo shipped from American port to Europe

The tramp steamer St Dunstan, hired by A Fred Brown of Boston, sailed from Calcutta to New York to load 225000 bushels of oats for Europe. Reported as the heaviest oats cargo ever sent from this or any American port. The Thordis, a Norwegian steamer of 2415 net tons, will load 210000 bushels of oats and 90000 bushels of grain in New York for Surrey Dock, London, via the Zanzibar.
