Dr Karl Muck former conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Count James Minotto son in law of Louis KF Swift Chicago packer left New York for Copenhagen aboard the Frederick VIII aboard the Scandinavian American liner. They had been interned as enemy aliens during the war and declared themselves American but stat ed they sailed as men without a flag or country.

The United States pleasure yacht of Colonel E. H. R. Green grounded in Padanaram harbor and listed heavily. Fifteen crew members aboard abandoned the vessel while ransacking guests’ staterooms and taking loot before police were summoned. authorities could not estimate the stolen property.
Charlie L. Gibson Jr and Bertha Hansen eloped in Augusta Maine while on vacation and were married this day. Gibson works as head clerk at Butler Spinney and Co. and Bertha, employed at Fore River shipyard office, has been active in amateur theatricals and Red Cross work.
Marefa Texas August 21 Four Mexican bandits were killed by American troops after being surrounded in an adobe blockhouse in a mountain pass. Captain Leonard Matlack, who arrived by airplane tonight, reported the incident.
A blaze early in Roxbury tore through a two story wooden structure at 2 Magazine Street. The Shoe Top Company occupied the building and its stock of materials suffered heavy damage from the fire and resultant water.
The Prince of Wales arrived in Quebec aboard a fast steam yacht near 6, greeted by guns at the citadel and crowds on King's Wharf. Sir Robert Borden accompanied him, as did Governor General Devonshire, Cardinal Begin, and Mayor Lavigneur, with a broad civic and religious procession applauding the royal party.

Mrs Stevens, reportedly worth 300000, declined interviews and issued a denial through H W Downes at his Bradford home. The couple, seen together daily, will move Sept 1 to 100 Webster Street. She plans radium treatment at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Boston early next week.
