Paris August 29 English women athletes won the first international women's track meet against teams from the United States France Switzerland and Czechoslovakia. Continued on Page 20-Fifth Col.
Mrs. Herbert W. Edwards of Massachusetts avenue learned her husband John L. Barlow and his bachelor friend entertained two women at 418 Massachusetts avenue. She alerted East Dedham Street Station, then entered via balcony to arrest all four with Sergeants Gale and Saunders.
In the American League New York beat Chicago 7 5 and Cleveland defeated Washington 2 0. In the National League New York topped Chicago 5 4 and Cincinnati swept Brooklyn 53 in the first game then won 4 3 in the second. Eastern League games included Bridgeport 10 Hartford 3 and Worcester 23 Waterbury 5 with Waterbury 1 Worcester 0 in the second. Springfield 9 Albany 8 first and 1 0 second. New Haven 38 Pittsfield 2 in 12 innings.

Gasparo Reynardo, 31, of South Weymouth, is hospitalized with the end of his nose shot away, a bullet wound to his left hand and forearm, and a facial gash from a revolver butt after a dispute with a friend behind the South Station last night. Companion Gaspare Lentine, 41, of 6 Kimball Place, South Boston, is under arrest on an technical charge as detectives investigate the liquor payment dispute.
Blinded by an approaching car, Mark A. McDonough of South Boston drove into a ledge on Forest Street Medford last night. He escaped injury while three passengers Miss Theresa Flynn Miss May and William Markly were bruised and taken to Malden Hospital before being sent home. The auto was badly damaged.
An early morning crash on the main highway near Mattapoisett left two dead and five injured after a seven passenger auto veered to avoid oncoming cars, struck a telephone pole and fence, and plunged into a three foot ditch near the Marion line.
Nicholas Rose and Antone M. Silva of Marion died instantly while Pattie Pina Mabel Cole Eleanor Brown Frank Pina and Louis Lopes were injured. The collision sent them overboard as a 25 mile per hour wind drove the yacht away.
Two powerboats from the Quincy Yacht Club responded to a collision between the Edith W Stride and Jumbo off Grape Island during a Marblehead race tie. Commodore Whiton was rescued by the Edith W crew while Hardwick was aided by the Lady May volunteers and Jumbo towed to anchorage by Strideaway.
Paul Cashman of 306 Bowdoin Street Dorchester reports his wallet containing 250 was taken while riding an inward bound Boston Elevated car. He suspects the theft occurred between the Hyde Park line and Forest Hills amid crowd jostling.
Michael Collins, commander of the Free State forces, was ambushed by irregular guerrillas last Friday while traveling from the southern front to Dublin. The armed clash occurred as rebels scattered and the rebellion neared its end amid a victorious campaign. The Dail plans to meet on Saturday to discuss the situation.
