Boston built an early lead as Nash made strong plays. Keeler McGraw and Gleason led offense with multi hit output, while Stivetts and Sullivan worked on the mound in a pitching duel. The second game lagged after Boston opened a big early gap, with McMahon steadier than Dolan.

Cleveland defeats St Louis 6 to 5 as 2000 fans watch. Seven hits for Cleveland with four errors against St Louis who chalk up five. Cuppy Zimmer Breitenstein Miller Otten are the battery pairings.
The Cleveland team won 9 to 7 over St Louis despite only seven hits led by sharp base running. Attendance was 2000 as Cuppy and Zimmer paired with Breitenstein and Miller on the mound.
The Louisville Chicago game set for today was postponed and will be played in Chicago on September 13.

At Centennial Park Nantucket August 13 the one-mile novice was led by Hussey in 2 67 with Stevens second. Swain won the half-mile open in 1 20 while Congdon and Worth tied for second and settled with Congdon ahead at 1 37. Burnett won the one-mile handicap with 25 yards and Murphy followed, Austin third. Swain captured the two-mile open in 5 30 with Congdon second. Kennington of Dedham High won the 10 yard dash in 1 second, Wells of Tufts second, then Kennington ran 100 yards in 10 35 seconds.
The Wayside Park Club will host the second annual open handicap games and bicycle races at South Framingham on Aug 31. Amateur entrants compete in six running events with handicap, plus two jumps. The course is the Royal Yacht Squadron, with prior winner Yampa defeating Amphitrite to win the schooner cup. The race sails tomorrow.
