Boston Approves Pneumatic Mails Conduit Plan For Sub Stations
The Boston Board of Aldermen granted permission to the State Pneumatic Delivery Company to lay underground conduits in multiple streets to connect Boston sub post offices with the central office. Postmaster Coveney endorsed the system as a fast mail route, with work to be supervised by the superintendent of streets and completed by Jan 4, 1896.
