Clayton Named U S Senator to Fill Johnston Vacancy

Montgomery Ala Aug 12 Henry J D Clayton third district congressman was named by Governor O Neal to fill the Johnston death vacancy in the U S Senate. The commission was delivered after 5 pm and Clayton said he would leave for Washington that night to present credentials and would not resign his House seat until seated in the Senate.
