Tragic suicides shock New York family scene

In New York Aus 9 Edward Krautwartz an 88 year old man killed himself in front of his wife and children by slashing his throat with a bread knife and tearing the wound. Charles J Muller shot himself in his mother's presence earlier this morning. He had been disinherited by his father who died last week after a will left him out for his wild habits.

Funeral services for Judge Stearns of Oxford county

Seward Stearns, 43, judge of probate for Oxford county, died today in Norway Maine. He served as internal revenue collector for the Maine district under President Harrison and was treasurer of the Norway Savings Bank. A prominent Mason and Past Grand High Priest, he leaves a widow and two children.

Faith healers held for murder in Chicago case

De Witt C Holmes and Mrs Henrika Brats of Dr Dowile’s Zion hospital were arrested on murder charges for the July 2 death of Anette Flanders at 1008 Indiana Avenue. The prayers used in treatment replaced medicine, noted at the coroner’s inquest. The husband’s exclamation followed the arrest.

Rabies Epidemic Reported in Buffalo Victims

An epidemic of rabies circulates in Buffalo New York with two more children bitten by mad dogs. A seven year old boy Samuel McClellan of York street was severely bitten by a bulldog and treated by his father Dr I A McClellan who shot the dog. Police identify aging burglar in Rogues' Gallery clash

Handcuffed by Patrolman James Kelley, a middle aged man faced Inspector Thomas Barry who identified him as Charlie Porter, suspected of burglary. Porter acknowledged the name Charles A Porter from a recent arrest and was charged with breaking and entering with intent to steal.

Winifredian Departure Dazzles East Boston Pier Crowd
