Compromise Efforts Fail in Campbellsville Railroad Debt Case
A four member commission and Sheriff marshal Gross tried to settle Campbellsville Taylor county railroad bond debt with bondholders. Bondholders demanded 50 cents on the dollar, the commission offered 25 cents, no agreement reached. Levy plans continue up to 18000 with sales set for around Aug 18. Ex marshal Hunter and armed force may secure property for bondholders amid possible resistance. A related federal mandamus targets Green county for 21068 in similar debt.
