Henry Ford, driving a Lincoln touring car, was fined 30 dollars for speeding in Le Roy New York a noted speed trap. Special Motorcycle Officer Dampier and Justice MacPherson enforce strict penalties, Ford’s chauffeur held as Ford rushed to catch a Buffalo bound boat for Detroit.
Boston and Maine railroad executives set up 10 foot barb wire barricades around their Minot street power house and equip larger repair shops with electric safeguards as shop mechanics strike. They vow to fight to the finish amid ongoing labor action.
Five firemen were hurt when Engine 41’s hose wagon rammed a telephone pole at the Appinway Brentwood and Franklin junction. Two are listed as seriously injured. details continue on Page 38 Fifth Column.

Tennis saw Francis T Hunter beat Gerald Patterson and William M Johnston defeat J O Anderson at Seabright. R N Williams defeated Andre Gobert. George Wiley won the Golden Wheel race at Revere with Carman second and Chapman third.
Secretary of the Treasury Mellon has leased Avalon near Prides Crossing as his summer residence for the season. President Harding is said to have accepted an invitation to visit Avalon later this month.
The Avalon was constructed during the summer of 1917 for industrialist Frederick Ayer, reflecting its era and patronage.
Joseph S. Donovan, Studebaker distributor for the territory, reports the Studebaker Corporation at South Bend Ind announcing substantial price reductions from 70 to 300 dollars on open and closed models. The new prices take effect August 1.

Joseph F. Frye, 24, of 8 Everett street Revere, was found with a head wound and back stab in Chelsea near 104 Broadway. He was taken to Chelsea Memorial Hospital in danger of death after an alleged near beer bar dispute. A fleeing assailant remains unidentified.
A 14 year old girl evangelist Mary Agnes Witchestain delivers a vigorous public address, described as a challenger to Billy Sunday, urging salvation and urging friends to join in a national spiritual drive.
During a thunder storm at the naval training station, the old frigate Constellation was struck by lightning. Two men aboard were stunned, some electrical instruments were damaged, but no fire started and the damage was slight.
