Roy Atkinson reports Harry Bixbie of Norcross Pharmacy Beachmont Square Beachmont won a Ford touring car after seven attempts to win. The car was delivered yesterday for his story Water as a Gate tender. Bixbie joked he had another good story up his sleeve.
In Missouri, Breckenridge Long leads Senator James A Reed by 9104 votes with only 65 of 3848 precincts reporting in St. Louis and Kansas City. Brewster of Kansas City tops a six-man Republican field for the Republican Senate nomination with 12,342 votes over Mel Winley who has 18,343.
The collier Lake Flourney sank the schooner Elba Spurling off Nauset Cape Cod in dense fog yesterday afternoon. One man, Patrick Powers of Westboro Massachusetts, died. Fifteen crew members were rescued as the Flourney docked at East Boston near 2 am. Captain George Perry of Mast Boston commanded the Spurling. all hands escaped with their lives.
George Edmund Day aged 89 of Kingsbury avenue Bradford district died at Gale hospital from lockjaw following a hayload fall and arm fracture. The broken bone pierced flesh causing a local poison and led to his death shortly after hospital treatment.
Harry J. Boland, former Sinn Fein representative in the United States, died in a Dublin hospital from wounds suffered when troops of the National Army fired on him Monday in Skerries. He was targeted while attempting to evade capture in the Grand Hotel.

Mrs Henrietta F Kendall aged 57 of Dorchester alleges William Rahenskas aged 29 attempted to drown her after a dispute over hanging onto a gasoline tender. The incident occurred as she was awaiting disembarkation from a row boat in muddy tidal shoals off South Bay.

Anthony Schanks of Winthrop was wounded when a man later named George Yenne attacked him with a knife on Boston Common just after 2 AM. A crowd chased Yenne, officers fired, and he was captured at the Odeum Theatre doorway and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Schanks was taken to Haymarket Relief Hospital.
James Dempsey reports from Atlantic City on William C. Prout of Massachusetts being nominated by the Knights of Columbus administration as a director at the international convention in session. He is expected to be elected to the supreme office when meetings resume tomorrow.
