A muddy sea tale ends with a stroll as a postman slips out of Bridgeport Harbor. No one gets wet and the group remains aboard for 50 minutes, stepping down to the ocean floor in a curious, nonchalant manner.
Bridgeport, Aug 1 Simon Lake inventor of the submarine boat entertained over a dozen guests today by guiding them on foot beneath Long Island Sound more than a mile from shore. They walked in street clothes 33 feet below the surface and explored the shell covered bottom while tugs and steamers passed overhead. The party laughed hunted fish and gathered shells for about three hours beneath the water.
Hermann Otto Boehme, head of a German wireless company with stations at Tuckerton New Jersey Laryville New York and Berlin, was arrested in New York City today in a $100 suit for alleged breach of promise filed by Miss Elfrieda Arntz a governess employed by Dr Edward S Cowles of Highland Falls and New York formerly of Portsmouth New Hampshire

Two women were killed and a man two other women and a child were injured when a car returning from a house party was struck by a Boston and Maine train at the East Cottage street crossing on the Watertown branch. One victim was drawn under the wheels and her body cut nearly in two. Others were thrown about 50 feet from the wreck.
Two women identified as Miss Mary Curley of 95 Mt Pleasant Avenue Roxbury and Miss Josephine Horrigan of Columbus Avenue Somerville died before ambulances reached the scene. Both bodies were badly mangled in the crash. Continued on Page 7 Fourth Col.
A New York tobacco lobby predicts higher cigar prices from 16 to 15 cents and cigarettes rising by two to five cents per pack. The shift includes restoring prewar cigarette pack sizes of 20 or fewer per box as wartime limits ease.
