Chelsea Toddler Survives 35-Foot Fall From Window

A one year old boy, David Goldberg of 130 Popular Street Chelsea, plunged 35 feet from a top floor window but remained unharmed. His mother Dora Goldberg heard him cry and a crowd gathered as he was rushed to Frost Hospital where doctors found him perfectly sound after brief unconsciousness.

Boston's Great White Way lights up Huntington Avenue

Boston opened its first Great White Way as forty high power daylight lamps on Huntington avenue were switched on at 7 45 pm. About 150 local businessmen and property owners paraded with a brass band and attended a reception at the Copley Square Hotel hosted by A H Whipple. Mayor Fitzgerald activated the lights after a rocket salute, drawing over 10 000 spectators between Copley Square and Massachusetts Avenue who cheered the new illumination.

English crook linked to Barnet jewel thefts nabbed

Rhode Island police and a private detective team investigated Hon B Barnet 3d at police headquarters then in New York, after Barnet attempted to steal jewels valued at 580 dollars from Bigelow Kennard Co. He fled the Tremont Street exit but was captured by Inspector Lynch as he tried to escape the hotel. Scotland Yard was asked for a description.

500 To Get 41H Degree On Monday At Mechanics Hall

Horse Falls in Subway Pit on Summer Street

A horse plunged into a subway pit on Summer Street last night. While workers attempted to lift the animal with a derrick, the boom touched an electric wire, causing a vivid arc. Firemen arrived to detach the boom and help move the horse back to the street.

Malden Blaze Probe Underway By State Officer

State Officer Thompson with Malden police will probe a mysterious fire that partially destroyed a two story dwelling at 38 Almont street Malden occupied by Morris Matt on the second floor and Jacob Stamnell early last evening. The blaze started in a rear second floor closet and spread to the roof causing $600 damage while both families were away.

Young Man Found Unconscious on Dedham Street

An 18 year old man named Charles Olsen was found unconscious on Court street Dedham in front of John H Sullivan's home yesterday afternoon. He attributed his condition to lack of sleep and food and said he was traveling from Boston to Providence where he resides.
