The Progressive party of New England plans a key event at Springfield on Tuesday May 6 the get together meeting at the Hotel Worthy featuring a conference of party members in the afternoon.
A large list of prominent men and women in New England plan to attend a festival and conference. Massachusetts figures chaired by Matthew Hale will discuss general state conditions and party finances while Mrs George H. Mellen focuses on work among women. Connecticut leaders Herbert Knox Smith and Senator Joseph W. Alsop will describe ongoing state efforts. Mrs Robert P. Johnston will speak about New Hampshire women’s work in the Progressive party.
Frederick O Booth of Boston and his mother Mrs Edward Booth of Brookline were injured when a Main street trolley crashed into their touring car. Mrs Booth suffered severe lacerations and possible internal injuries, Frederick had deep cuts and facial lacerations, the third occupant was uninjured and the car wrecked.
Mrs. Emmeline Pankhurst was granted a seven day extension of her license in London after a visit by Holloway jail’s governor and a prison doctor. Her license had been revoked for noncompliance, with a warrant issued for arrest, but health concerns led officials to keep her at liberty for now.
