General Hale to Take New Command at Camp Dix

General Hale yesterday relinquished control of the Yankee Division and, under War Department orders, proceeded to Camp Dix to assume command of the New Jersey cantonment. He turned over the Yankee Division to Brigadier General George A. Shelton, commander of the 51st Infantry Brigade, before departing for New York on the midnight train.

Thousands on Grandstands for Yankee Division Parade

Thousands of spectators from New England filled grandstands and improvised perches along the parade route welcoming the Yankee Division. Governors, sailors, Marines, and local dignitaries shaded by flags and noise makers cheered as troops, bands, and Red Cross nurses passed, with Mrs Edwards and other notable figures watching from Commonwealth Avenue stands.
