Arrested for Kicking Somerville Officer

Stanley Morrison and two 19 year old youths were arrested yesterday for kicking Reserve Officer Wilson of the Somerville police in the shins and for escaping from the officer during a prior arrest. They will appear in court this morning.

Famed Bullard Bequest Highlights Frontline Prints Exhibit

A selection from Francis Bullard’s Liber bequest is placed in the Museum of Fine Arts print rooms as Curator Fitz-Roy Carrington launches a show of great prints. Express Cars to Run Medford Routes in Boston Elevated Plan

Express cars will operate on three Somerville and Medford lines by the Boston Elevated Railway Company starting Monday April 28 during rush hours. From 5:30 to 6 PM Medford Hillside cars will run express from Sullivan Square to Winter Hill. Woburn and West Medford lines will not stop except to pick up passengers between Sullivan Square and Winter Hill.

Boston House Histories Linked to Colonial Leaders

Chinese Residents to Hold Patriotic Services in Boston

Prominent New England Natural History Society members stage a summer exhibit addressing the stable fly as a suspected carrier of infantile paralysis germs. Charles T. Brues notes a six child family affected with two deaths, flies found in barn yard and rooms filled with blood. The exhibit features enlarged photos and expert commentary along with 15 total exhibits from 30 federated societies.

Fly pest shown at New England exhibition in Boston

At the New England Federation of Natural History Societies exhibition in Boston the stable fly and its photograph were displayed. Exhibitors explained how the insect spreads disease and, based on experiments with flies from a Southboro farm where infantile paralysis raged, concluded mature stable flies may carry the organism between humans by their bite. Dr. Philip A. E. Sheppard led the research.
