Reconsideration of Movie Bill Defeated
By a vote of 37 to 8 the House refused to reconsider the defeat of the bill to require moving picture proprietors to label films used for or against candidates or measures. The measure was opposed by the committee on election laws after a hard fight in the House last Friday and yesterday to substitute the proposal. The main argument favored holding moving pictures responsible for political advertising as newspapers are under existing law.
