A pleasure yacht wreck is reported afloat between Galveston and Tampico. Four young men and a crew of captain, mate, and cook were aboard. The vessel, on a pleasure cruise, is thought to have capsized with all hands drowned after two lifeboats were seen floating bottom up.
John R. Jones of Worcester sues the Consolidated in Providence alleging a Dec 25 accident left him with both feet amputated. He seeks $15,000 in damages claiming negligence by the railroad company.
The North Suburban Passenger League executive committee met in the Ames building to outline reduced Boston & Maine fares. Proposals include 11 2 cents per mile for single trips, 11 4 cents per mile for 10 to 12 ride tickets, and 1 cent per mile for 25 50 or 100 ride books. Tickets to be valid at multiple stations within the twelve mile suburban line. G Houston Smith Melrose secretary invites others to join.
Frank F Young aged 38 of 3887 Washington street was arrested at Station 1 on charges of peddling jewelry. He approached Hyman Brown at 75 Salem street, offered a cheap 18 carat ring, and Brown sent the ring next door for testing. тест
A Scribner and Smith tiger escaped from its cage at the Fairgrounds where the show wintered. A keeper attempting to drive it back with a pitch fork was clawed and knocked down but survived as other staff beat the animal away. The tiger entered a stable and killed a horse before being recaptured.
Harrisburg April 23 Samuel A Davenport of Erie and Galusha A Grow of Susquehanna were nominated as Congressmen at large by acclamation. Delegates at large to the national convention were chosen: Governor Hastings Elverson Torrence Beacom Flood Bosler Greist Barker and others from several counties.

In Portsmouth New Hampshire Addie Guppy dies after one day with diphtheria causing panic as many are exposed. Children who met her or were in the sewing circle were sent home and ordered to quarantine. The Board of Health convened to impose precautions.
A humorous scare at Central High School Duluth on April 23 led to pupils fleeing as a drove of large muskrats invaded a room during a recitation. Teachers and students scrambled to safety while rats chased by boys and one animal attacked a chair. Expulsions may follow for those responsible.

Lawrence, April 23. Thomas Donohue, a brakeman on the Boston and Maine railroad, had an accident tonight while coupling cars, losing both legs. William Mahoney a 35 year old coal heaver dies after a quarrel at McCarthy's coal wharf on Border street. John Linburg 26, in a coma with brain injuries, is hospitalized. Both fell from a run to the wharf during the clash. Mahoney died en route to Massachusetts General Hospital. Linburg remains in critical condition. Mahoney's sister in East Boston is grief struck.
Miss Azabia Thompson aged 30, daughter of Wilson Thompson, committed suicide by drowning in an old well this morning. She had suffered ill health for years and was despondent, but was described as an estimable Baptist Church member.

The men met on Camden street reigniting an old dispute and O Connor received a slight cut on the back of his neck during the clash.
