Profit taking drives copper stocks down in New York and Boston
On Tuesday April 22 copper shares led declines as holders sold large blocks amid a broad market pause. Amalgamated Copper fluctuated between 65 and 66 3/8, while Copper Range Consolidated tracked its moves. Other active issues like Daly-West, Calumet and Hecla, and Massachusetts Electric showed mixed action, with New York Central and Southern Pacific slipping and the market closing broadly weak.

A New York despatch reports Mrs Emere Browne has filed for absolute divorce from George C Browne son of a Boston dry goods millionaire. She alleges he entertained two women at a Harlem hotel on Sept 2 190. His counter suit names Herbert R Snyder as corespondent. Married 1879 separated 1898 with a claimed life allowance. Browne later went to Oklahoma in 1896 to sue for abandonment. No trace of a local dry goods millionaire named Browne is found.
