State Auditor Alonzo B. Cook informs heads of all State departments that only Governor authorized conferences in the form of banquets or luncheons may be billed for. Without such authorization, the auditor will not approve expenses.
Judge Jenney ordered the disbarment after findings about the trapping of Captain Stearns in a Cambridge apartment. The case alleges Coakley conspired with others to secure a crime, using Ann Pennington as a medium.
Allan 8 Parker, 79, was found dead yesterday in his room at 1 Hillside Avenue Malden. Medical Examiner Durell ruled death from natural causes.
Andrém Larsen 34 of 25 Somerset Ave Winthrop died after wood supports failed while he worked under his car in a stable on Pauline Street. The car fell crushing him. John Wheeler freed him and he died at Metcalf Hospital. He leaves a wife and a one year old daughter. He was working on a Boston Revere & Lyn railroad ferryboat.
Massachusetts state police traced a gray fedora made in Manchester to Otto Heim’s hat store in Manchester. The hat, found at Winchester station after night-shift agent Ralph W. Brewster’s murder, will be identified locally. A suspect has been closely questioned and surveilled as investigators pursue the killer. The case points toward Pittsfield, New Hampshire, Brewster’s longtime home, where he had many friends and an enemy who fatally shot him as he closed the station.

Frank Stone of 12 Myrtle Street West End was arrested after a chase across Boston Common. Patrolman Bird fired two shots in the air to summon officers from LaGrange Street division. Stone was brought to City Hall station and charged with violating the liquor law.
Peter Everson died after an oat kernel sprouted in his right ear two weeks earlier. Doctors say the kernel caused the fatal infection and complications last night at a local tar.
A City Hospital ambulance collided with a touring car at Otis and Summer streets last night. Six people were shaken up, including nine month old Joseph Bass who was in a hammock sling suspended from the ambulance roof. Driver John F. Kelleher of South Boston piloted the ambulance from Haymarket Relief Hospital to City Hospital.
Driver Kelleher drove across Summer street when a large touring car sideswiped him pushing the car against a curb at the Kingston and Summer street corner, in front of a cigar store.
