Train Hits auto at Lynn street crossing injuring two

A Saugus branch train slowed to stop at Linden station and struck an auto at the Lynn street crossing last evening. Driver Edward Dexter of Chelsea and passenger Samuel Tarkoff of Malden, 2 years old, were injured. Dexter escaped damage until the front wheels left him battered against the tender.

David G. Pearlstein is charged with attempted arson after allegedly bribing two men to burn his wood house at 9 Fourth Street East Cambridge occupied by two families. Under starlight a roof battle unfolded as two men tried to kindle a fire with oil and varnish dryer canisters. Two women and six children slept below unaware of the danger while neighbors learned of the plan and the arrest of the two men sparked widespread excitement.
