Foreign Corporations Oppose May Stockholder Filing Law
Richard Olney argues before Massachusetts Taxation Committee in 1890 that requiring foreign corporations to file stockholder lists is ineffective and burdensome. He contends owners hide ownership, law invites evasion, harms large and small shareholders, and could deter foreign investment. He urges broader reform and notes support from Amory Langdon and many manufacturers.
