Dismasted Schooner James H. Woodhouse Returns to Boston
The three masted schooner James H. Woodhouse sailed January 30 for San Domingo with sugar, was dismasted two days out, drifted 83 days and about 5000 miles near the Bermuda area. Captain J M Kelly and crew endured measles and shortages, battling storms until a tow home to East Boston arrived last night. repairs cost about 7000 dollars.

Engineer O'Hara and Fireman Thompson leaped free as the engine and smoker plunged. about sixty passengers aboard survived with minor injuries while some were cut by glass.
