Opening of Forty Hours devotion at St Marys North End

Methodist Conference May Buy Sanitarium for Home

Somersworth N H April 18 A recommendation from the New Hampshire Methodist Episcopal session urges the six New England conferences to jointly purchase the Attleboro Sanitarium in Attleboro Massachusetts as a home for aged ministers their wives widows and for orphaned children of conference members The building valued at about 250 000 is offered for 116 000 already 34000 subscribed leaving about 81000 to raise John M Fisher who built and equipped the sanitarium favors Methodist control The plan includes using the 95 acres for an old couples home and an orphanage once funds are secured

Robbers Trapped by Wire Tie in Cigar Store Heists

A piece of picture wire led to the arrest of four men suspected of holding up and robbing many United Cigar Stores in New York and nearby. Detectives traced the wire to its seller and waited as the suspects sought a supply. Three were captured at gunpoint on a trolley in New Rochelle.
