David McHowell, a 15 year old store employee, helped Hill pack a ham believed poisoned into a barrel. Hill sold his share to Lorenzo Archibald and opened a new store at 109 Shaw mut avenue amid claims by Mrs. Paten of libel threats and misdeeds. Hill left the house after Mrs. Paten’s confrontation six weeks earlier, later lodging with clairvoyant Mrs. Brunnel where he claimed to be single though authorities state he is married.
